Retül Bike Fit Aims:

This level of service offers the most comprehensive bike fitting solution on the market. No matter what level you are at, it aims to provide a ‘no stone unturned approach’ to ensure we provide a position that is comfortable, efficient but most importantly reduces injury risk.

The fit starts with a detailed rider history, affording us the opportunity to fully understand previous/current injuries, cycling experience and what the rider hopes to achieve from the fit. A physiological assessment of the rider’s function and flexibility will follow to accurately guide the fitter’s decisions on providing a position that is both optimal and specific to the rider and their needs.

The fitting process initially focuses on the foot interaction with the pedal, this includes shoe suitability, cleat positioning and correction. Once stability at this contact point has been achieved, we move up to assess the relationship between the rider’s pelvis and saddle to ensure the width and shape are providing a stable and comfortable platform; this will naturally lead into the assessment of saddle height and fore/aft position. Cockpit area analysis (bars, stem, shifters) will determine the optimal reach and drop profile in maintaining synergy between all of the contact points.

Dynamic analysis of the position is achieved using Retül 3D motion capture technology, accurately measuring every degree of movement. The final position will be reached from a combination of rider feedback and data obtained.

Measurements of the position will be taken digitally and compiled into a report detailing all aspects of the fit; the rider will receive a copy of this via email.

A 3-4 week habituation period is required following the fit to allow the body to become accustomed to new motor patterns. It is recommended the rider stays at relatively lower intensity (<75%) during this period. A 30 minute review is included up to 90 days following the fit for any minor adjustments.

Please advise us via email (retulstafford@gmail.com) if you suspect you may require a change in equipment e.g. shoes, saddle, etc.
